Wi-Fi on the Water
SITUATION
A local Marina needed reliable Wi-Fi available inside all the boats in slips across a large area of water. The docks that form the slips are temporary and are removed at the end of every season.
SOLUTION
ATP designed a system that combined enterprise access points and repeaters to provide the signal strength needed to penetrate the hauls of the large boats in the marina. The design also included a grounding solution to protect against the regular lightening strikes on the river and a quick removal and installation system for easy of removal and setup each season. The system is provided as a managed service, so all, monitoring, support, repairs, removal, installation, and upgrades are part of a predictable monthly cost that the marina can include as part of the slip rental.
SUMMARY
After many years of experiencing regular failures with their previous Wi-Fi solution. The Marina now has a reliable, professionally backed, and cost effective solution so they can focus on boats instead of Wi-Fi issues.
